As the name indicates, this sentence interrogates or asks a question and ends with a question mark. Whilst most interrogative sentences start with question words like “how” or “why,” but others are yes/no questions that begin with the helping verbs.
Interrogative sentence एक प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य वह है जो एक सीधा सवाल पूछता है और हमेशा एक प्रश्न चिन्ह में समाप्त होता है। ज्यादातर प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य question words like “how” or “why,” से स्टार्ट होते है। लेकिन दूसरे तरह के helping verbs से स्टार्ट होते है।

Interrogative sentences मुख्यतः 2 प्रकार के होते है।

Wh-question Interrogative sentences With Examples
जिन प्रश्नो के उत्तर एक या दो वाक्य में होते है उन्हें Wh-question कहा जाता है। ये हमेशा ‘Wh’ word से शुरू होते है। जैसे- what, why, when, which, how, who, etc
Questions that have answers in one or two sentences are called Wh-questions. They always start with the word ‘Wh’. Like-what, why, when, which, how, who.

- Where shall we go?

2. Yes-no type question
जिन प्रश्नों के उत्तर ‘yes’ या ‘no’ में दिए जाते है उन्हें ‘Yes-no type question’ कहा जाता है। ये प्रश्न हिंदी में क्या से तथा से शुरू होते है, तथा english में helping verbs/modal verbs – Do, can, will, is, did, would, could, may, does.
Questions that are answered in ‘yes’ or ‘no’ are called ‘Yes-no type questions’. They start with these words – Do, can, will, is, did, would, could, may, does.
