जब किसी वाक्य में “ना केवल यह बल्कि वह भी” या फिर “यही नहीं वह भी” आये तब not only but also का Use किया जाता है।
For example-
में न केवल एक अध्यापक हूँ , बल्कि एक किसान भी हूँ।I am not only a teacher but also a farmer.
वो न केवल अंग्रेज़ी बल्कि पंजाबी बोलना भी जानता है।He can speak not only English but also Punjab
Uses of not only but also
1. यदि not only के बाद Adjective आये तो but also के बाद भी Adjective ही आना चाहिए
Subject + Verb + not only + adjective + but also + Adjective.
Example:-
- He is not only kind but also handsome. वह दयालु ही नहीं बल्कि सूंदर भी हे।
- He is not only short but also fat. वह छोटा ही नहीं बल्कि मोटा भी है।
- He is not only arrogant but also selfish. वह घमंडी ही नहीं बल्कि स्वार्थी भी है।
- Dev is not only rich but also famous. देव न केवल अमीर है, बल्कि प्रसिद्ध भी है ,
2. यदि not only के बाद Adverb आये तो but also के बाद भी Adverb ही आना चाहिए
Subject + Verb + not only + Adverb + but also + Adverb
Example:-Use of not only but also
- pooja reads not only quickly but also loudly. पूजा न केवल जल्दी बल्कि जोर से पड़ती है।
- she works not only carefully but also quickly. वह काम न केवल सावधानी से बल्कि तेजी से करती है।
- Kanha writes not only correctly but also neatly. कान्हा न केवल सही ,बल्कि शुद्ध लिखता है।
3. यदि not only के बाद noun आये तो but also के बाद भी noun ही आना चाहिए
Subject + Verb + not only + noun + but also + Noun.
Example:-Use of not only but also
- They visited not only the USA but also India. वै केवल अमेरिका बल्कि भारत भी गए।
- She is not only a novelist but also a poet. वो केवल उपन्यश्कार ही नहीं बल्कि एक कवि भी है।
- He is not only a teacher but also a farmer.वह केवल एक अध्यापक ही नहीं बल्कि एक किसान भी है।
4. यदि not only के बाद Verb आये तो but also के बाद भी Verb ही आना चाहिए
Subject + not only + Verb + but also + Verb.
Example:-
- She not only study hard but also plays hard. वह सिर्फ पढ़ाई में ही नहीं खेल में भी आगे है।
- They not only speak english but also speak Hindi. वह न केवल अंग्रेजी बल्कि हिंदी भी बोलता है।
