Some Important Rules To form Past Continuous Tense

1. इस tense के वाक्यों के last में रहा था,रही थी, रहे थे, होते हे, इस तरह के वाक्यों से पता चलता हे की कोई काम भूतकाल में निरंतर चल रहा था |

2 . इस टेंस में helping verb (सहायक क्रिया ) Was/Were का उपयोग करते है |

I, He, She, It, and one name के साथ WAS का use करते है |

We, They, You and two or more than two name के साथ WERE का use करते है |

3 . main verb के साथ ING लगाते है | Past Continuous Tense

Affirmative Sentences सकारात्मक वाक्य :

Structure ⇒ subject + was /were +main verb + ing + object +.

Examples: Past Continuous Tense

राधिका कपडे धो रही थी | Radhika was washing clothes.
वह उसको बुला रही थी | She was calling him.
देव हंस रहा था | Dev was laughing.
मैं एक पत्र लिख रहा था | I was writing a letter.
वै सब मन्दिर जा रहे थे | they all were going to temple.
आप कल उसे डांट रहे थे | You were scolding him tomorrow.
अमन परसो राम को चिड़ा रहा था |Aman was irritating ram day before yesterday.
राम और लक्ष्मण वन से आ रहे थे |Ram and Laksham were coming from forest/wood.
सभी बच्चे मस्ती कर रहे थे | All children were making a noise.
वह उसे समझा रही थी | She was making him understand.

note ⇒ हमने देखा Past Continuous Tense के इन सभी sentences के last में रहा था, रही थी, रहे थे, आया है जिससे यहाँ पता चलता है, की भूतकाल में कर्ताओ के द्वारा ये कार्य किये जा रहे थे| अब हम इन्ही वाक्यों के negative, interrogative बनाते है , ताकि हम इसे और बेहतर समझ सके|

Negative sentences (नकारात्मक वाक्य ): Past Continuous Tense

Structure ⇒ subject + was /were +not +main verb + ing+ object +.

Examples

राधिका कपडे नहीं धो रही थी | Radhika was not washing clothes.
वह उसको बुला नहीं रही थी | She was not calling him.
देव नहीं हंस रहा था | Dev was not laughing.
मैं एक पत्र नहीं लिख रहा था | I was not writing a letter.
वै सब मन्दिर नहीं जा रहे थे | They all were not going to temple.
आप कल उसे नहीं डांट रहे थे | You were not scolding him tomorrow.
अमन परसो राम को नहीं चिड़ा रहा था | Aman was not irritating ram day before yesterday.
राम और लक्ष्मण वन से नहीं आ रहे थे | Ram and Laksham were not coming from forest/wood.
सभी बच्चे मस्ती नहीं कर रहे थे | All children were not making a noise.
वह उसे नहीं समझा रही थी | She was not making him understand.

Negative sentences (नकारात्मक वाक्य ) बनाने के लिए हमने इन सभी sentences में HV के बाद not का use किया है | Past Continuous Tense

Interrogative sentences(प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य ): yes /no question

ऐसे प्रश्न जो क्या से start होते है , ऐसे प्रश्नो को इंग्लिश में बनाते समय है h. v.(was/were )को sentence के शुरुआत में लिखते है ऐसेquestion को yes /no question कहा जाता है | Past Continuous Tense
