The English language has two types of articles: the and a/an. The is used to refer to specific or particular nouns, and a/an is used to modify non-specific or non-particular nouns. We call the definite article and a/an the indefinite article. Articles A An The

1.   definite article⇒ The का प्रयोग किसी noun की position को definite और certain  बनाने के लिए किया जाता है।

• The house in which I live is new.
• this is the pen which I have bought.
• The gold of Nepal is cheap.

2.  indefinite article⇒ A and An का प्रयोग किसी noun की position को indefinite और uncertain  बनाने के लिए किया जाता है।

• He saw an old man.
• there was a king.
• A dog was barking at night.

Use of A/An ⇒        Articles A An The

A/ Anकिसी भी word के पहले A /An का प्रयोग करने के पहले हमे यह जनंना आवश्यक हे की उस word का first letter कोनसा है ,तथा first letter का first sound क्या है? अगर हम first letter तथा first sound को जाने बगैर A /An का प्रयोग करते हे तो गलती होने की संभावना बाद जाती हे।

Use of A⇒

1.    अगर किसी word का first letter consonant हे ,तथा first sound भी  consonant हे तो हम article A का प्रयोग करेंगे।

Examples:-  a cat,    a bat,      a bench,      a fan,   a dog,

2.  .अगर किसी word का first letter Vowelहे ,तथा first sound ,consonant हे तो हम article A का प्रयोग करेंगे।

Examples:-

• A union
• A university
• A uniform
• a utensil
• A useful cow
• A one wat ticket

Use of An⇒ 

1.अगर किसी word का first letter consonant हे ,तथा first sound vowel हे तो हम article An का प्रयोग करेंगे।

Examples:-

• An honest person
• An heir
• An M.L.A.
• An N.C.C. boy
• An hour
• An X-mas tree

2.  अगर किसी word का first letter vowel हे ,तथा first sound भी  vowel हे तो हम article An का प्रयोग करेंगे।

Examples:-

• An umbrella
• an ugly woman
• An Indian
• An ox,   An Axe
• An exercise

1.   A/An का  प्रयोग कुछ खास phrases में भी किया जाता हे।

2.    A का प्रयोग number and quantity का बोध करने के लिए भी किया जाता हे।

• A lot of
• a great deal of
• A number of
• a large number of
• A good many of

3.   A/An का  प्रयोग one (एक ) के अर्थ में भी किया जाता हे।

• Divyansh has a dog           ( A=एक )
• Ram has an apple              ( An=एक )
• A king Had Three sons     ( A=एक )

No use of A/An    Articles A An The

1.   A/An का use proper noun के पहले नहीं होता हे।

Examples:-

• We live in Bihar.     (Χ)

• A Nilu is a naughty girl.  (Χ)

2.   A/An का use uncountable noun के पहले नहीं होता हे।

Examples:-

• a gold     (Χ)                   gold(√)

3.      A/An का use plural noun के पहले नहीं होता हे।

4.   A/An का use kind of, sort of, type of, variety of,के बाद प्रयुक्त noun के पहले नहीं होता हे।

• sort of radio.      (Χ)             .sort of radio. (√)
• variety of a sheep.  (Χ)         variety of sheep. (√)

5.   A/An का use food items के पहले नहीं होता हे|

• have a breakfast. (Χ)          have breakfast. (√)

1.     The का use पर्वत श्रेणियों (series of mountains ) के पहले होता हे।

but do not use before peaks of mountains(पर्वत चोटिया )
