Definition of Adjective:- An adjective is a word that describes or qualifies a noun or a pronoun in a sentence.जो शब्द वाक्य में noun या pronoun की विशेषता बतलाते है|
Types of Adjectives – विशेषण के प्रकार

1. Adjectives of Quality(गुणवाचक विशेषण):- ऐसे Adjective जिससे किसी व्यक्ति या वस्तु के गुण दोष ,रंग रूप आकार -प्रकार स्थिति आदि का बोध होता है उसे गुणवाचक विशेषण कहते है|This type of adjective shows the quality, condition, and behaviour of a person or thing.
Example:-
- Raman is a tall man.
- I drive an old car.
- Dev is a good boy.
- This is a red pen.
- you have a Redshirt.
- He is a fat boy.
- Sita is beautiful.
- Ram is young and Shyam is old.
2. Adjectives of Number(संख्यावाचक विशेषण):- ऐसे Adjective जिससे किसी व्यक्ति या वस्तु के संख्या का बोध होता है उसे Adjectives of Number कहते है|This type of adjective shows the number of person or thing.
Example:-
one, two, three, first, second, third, next, last, few, all, some, many, etc.
- We have some mangoes and bananas.
- We have two legs and two hands.
- I have two brothers.
- She has three toys.
- many criminals were killed.
- He has three phones.
- Sita has ten apples.
- The dog has one tail.
- He is the first boy in the class.
3. Possessive Adjectives(सम्बन्धसूचक विशेषण):- ऐसे Adjective जिसका प्रयोग अधिकार या सम्बन्ध बताने के लिए किया जाता है, या जो स्वामी या मालिक का बोध कराते है। वह possessive adjective कहलाता है| Possessive adjectives are used to show possession or relation.or owner of
Example:- my, your, our, his, her, its और their यह सब के सब possessive adjectives है|
Example:-
- This is my book.
- That is your pen.
- These are our chairs.
- Your sister is beautiful.
- that is my car.
4. Interrogative Adjectives(प्रश्नवाचक विशेषण):- ऐसे Adjective जिसका प्रयोग वाक्य में प्रश्न पूछनेके के लिए किया जाता है वह Interrogative Adjectives कहलाता है|Interrogative Adjectives used to ask questions in a sentence are called interrogative adjectives.
Example:-
- What book do you want to read?
- which pen is black?
- Whose notebook is this?
- Which car is yours?
5. Emphasizing Adjectives( दबाव सूचक विशेषण):– ऐसे Adjective जिसका प्रयोग वाक्य में किसी noun पर विशेष दबाव डालने के लिए किया जाता है|Emphasizing Adjectives used to emphasize the nouns they modify are called emphasizing adjectives or Emphatic adjectives.
Example:-
- He saw his beloved on the road with his own eyes.
- Ram saw him with his own eyes.
- This is the very book I used to read a lot.
- This is the same book I wanted.
- It is his own idea.
6. Adjectives of Quantity(परिमाणसूचक विशेषण):- ऐसे Adjectives जिससे मात्रा Quantity का बोध होता है उसे परिमाणवाचक विशेषण कहते है| Adjectives of Quantity that show the quantity of noun is called quantitative adjectives.
enough, A good deal of, a large number of, lots of Some, no, Much, enough, all, little, whole, any, etc.
Example:-
- Divyansh has enough money.
- She has a lot of coffee.
- She has lost all his wealth.
- He had no water.
- He has enough money.
- I have some gold.
- The whole money is useless.
- There is a lot of water in the pond.
7. Demonstrative Adjectives(संकेतवाचक विशेषण):- ऐसे Adjectives जिनका प्रयोग व्यक्तियों या वस्तुयों को point out सूचित करने के लिए किया जाता है, उसे demonstrative adjective कहते है| Demonstrative Adjectives used to point out person or thing is called a demonstrative adjective.
Example:-
- this book is red.
- that girl is ugly.
- Those pens are black.
- This pen is mine.
- I did not like that man.
- This man is hungry.
- These boys are good.
- Those girls are beautiful.
8. Distributive Adjectives(व्यष्टि वाचक विशेषण):- ऐसे Adjectives जिनका प्रयोग दो या दो से अधिक व्यक्तियों या वस्तुयों मेसे प्रत्येक या एक का बोध कराने वाले Adjective को Distributive Adjectives कहा जाता है| Each, every, either and neither are called distributive adjectives.
Example:-
- Each girl has a pen.
- Each student had a pen.
- Every man is emotional.
- Either boy is lying. Neither pens write well.
9. Proper Adjectives(व्यक्तिवाचक विशेषण):- Proper noun से बने adjective को proper adjective कहते है| Adjectives made from proper nouns are called proper adjectives.

10. Exclamatory Adjectives(विस्मयादिवोधक विशेषण):- जब what का प्रयोग आश्चर्य के भाव का बोध कराने के लिए होता है, तब इसे exclamatory adjective कहते है| ‘What’ is called an exclamatory adjective when it is used as an adjective in an exclamatory sentence.
Example:-
