Definition and meaaning:- Use of preposition At

word AT एक preposition है जिसका हिंदी अर्थ अलग अलग sentences में अलग अलग होता है। वाक्य में at का हिंदी अर्थ क्या होगा ये उसी वाक्य पे निर्भर करंता है। अतः  इसका हिंदी मतलब और english sentences में यूज़ कैसे होता है ये अच्छे से समझना जरुरी है। निचे दिए गए Examples गौर से देखे और समझे की At का use किस तरह से किया गया है। ताकि concept clear हो सके। 

Examples:-

• I sat at my table and cried.
• Let’s meet at 11:45.
• The car will stop at the curb.
• The dog scratched at the screen.
• Their wedding was at the town hall.
• There were tens of thousands of people at JLo’s latest concert.
• They laughed at all his jokes.
• The tiger lunged at the monkey.
• He stood at the podium.
• Don’t you dare yell at me?

Some important rules of use AT

Rule 01.  सामान्यतः At का प्रयोग छोटे स्थानों के नाम के (name of the smaller places )के पहले “में ” के अर्थ में किया जाता है। Used to indicate a small place:

Examples:- 

• my sister lives at khoriya.
• I live at patidar mohalla.
• my brother lives at agar.

Rule 02.  At का प्रयोग में /पर के अर्थ में समय को अभिव्यक्त करने के लिए भी किया जाता है। Used to point out specific time:

Example:-

• He will reach at 5 A.M.
• He came at 6 O’clock.

Rule 03.  At का प्रयोग समय सूचक (time expressing words ) शब्दों से पहले भी किया जाता है। 

Example:-

At +night

      noon

      midnight

     afternoon

     this moment

      this hour

Rule 04. At का प्रयोग कीमत, दर, चाल को अभिव्यक्त करने वाले शब्दों से पहले भी किया जाता है। 

Example:-

• Milk sells At Rs. 50/- per liter.
• He got that book At Rs. 50.
• The car is running At 100 kilometers an hour.

Rule 05. At का प्रयोग अस्थाई कार्य (temporary Action) को अभिव्यक्त करने के लिए भी किया जाता है।

Used to indicate an activity: temporary Action 

Example:-

• she is at work.
• he is at play. 

Rule 06.  At का प्रयोग उम्र (age) चरण (stage) को दर्शाने वाले शब्दों के पहले भी किया जाता है। 

Example:-

• my grandfather got marriage at the age of nine.
• I left college at twenty-four.

Rule 07.  At का प्रयोग निचे दिए गए शब्दों के पहले भी किया जाता है।
