pronoun is a word that is used instead of a noun or noun phrase. Pronouns refer to either a noun that has already been mentioned or a noun that does not need to be named specifically.

Kinds of the pronoun

  • 1) Personal Pronoun. (व्यक्तिवाचक सर्वनाम )
  • 2) Possessive Pronoun (अधिकरवाचक सर्वनाम)
  • 3) Reflexive Pronoun (निजवाचक सर्वनाम )
  • 4) Relative Pronoun (संबंधवाचक सर्वनाम )
  • 5) Demonstrative Pronoun (निश्चयवाचक सर्वनाम )
  • 6) Indefinite  Pronoun (अनिश्चयवाचक सर्वनाम )
  • 7) Interrogative Pronoun (प्रश्नवाचक सर्वनाम )
  • 8) Distributive Pronoun (वितरणवाचक सर्वनाम)
  • 9)Emphatic pronoun(दबावसूचक सर्वनाम )
  • 10)Reciprocal pronoun(पारम्परिक सम्बन्ध वाचक सर्वनाम )

 Personal Pronoun (व्यक्तिवाचक सर्वनाम)

वे pronoun जो तीनो Persona First Person (प्रथम पुस्र्ष) Second Person (मध्यम पुस्र्ष) Third Person (अन्य पुस्र्ष )में प्रयुक्त होते हे personal pronouns कहलाते है। 

a) First Person ⇒ I, We
b) Second Person ⇒  You
c) the Third Person ⇒He, she, it

a) First Person (प्रथम पुरूष ): speaker (बोलनेवाला)

For Example:
I am a teacher. (मैं एक अध्यापक हूँ। )
We are able to do this  (हम इसे करने योग्य हैं )

b) Second Person (मध्यम पुरूष ): Audience (सुनने वाला)

For Example:
You are Clever. (तुम चतुर हो।) singular and plural

c) Third Person (अन्य पुरूष ): जिसके बारे मे बात की जा रही है उसे अन्य पुस्र्ष कहते है
For Example:
They are innocent. वे मासूम हैं।
She is reading a book.वह एक किताब पढ़ रही है।

2) Possessive Pronoun (अधिकरवाचक सर्वनाम)
The pronoun which shows possession or ownership is called the possessive pronoun.
like my, mine, hers, yours, etc
For Example:

  • This is my car यह मेरी कार है।
  • This is mine. यह मेरी है।
  • our country is beautiful. हमारा देश सुन्दर है।

3) Reflexive Pronoun. (निजवाचक सर्वनाम) types of the pronoun
A reflexive pronoun is the action performed by the subject is on the subject itself.

 yourself, Myself. itself, themselves
For Example

I will do it myself. यह मैं खुद करूंगा।
You have hurt yourself. तुम अपने आप को चोट पहुँचाई है ।

4) Relative Pronoun (संबंधवाचक सर्वनाम )
A relative pronoun relates two clauses that share a common word. 
For Example:
that, who, which, etc
That man is my brother. वो आदमी मेरा भाई है। 

5) Demonstrative Pronoun (निश्चयवाचक सर्वनाम) types of the pronoun
In this type of pronoun, we often use the words such as ‘this, ‘that’. It indicates the object that we try to describe. (कुछ ऐसे सर्वनाम जो निश्चितता को भावना का बोध कराता हो उसे निश्चयवाचक सर्वनाम कहते है )
For Example:
This (यह), these (ये)
That (वह), those(वै)
This is my book. यह मेरी किताब है।  

those are your mangoes. वै तुम्हारे आम है। 
That is your pen. वह तुम्हारा कलम है।

6) Indefinite Pronoun (अनिश्चयवाचक सर्वनाम)
The pronouns used in the sentence do not refer to any particular person or object.
Any (कोई)
Something (कुछ )
For Example:
I need some money मुझे कुछ पैसे चाहिए।
Someone at the door दरवाजे पर कोई है। 

7) Interrogative Pronoun (प्रश्नवाचक सर्वनाम)
The pronouns that are used for asking questions are known as interrogative pronouns. 
For Example:
Who (कौन)
Which (कौन सा )
Where (कहॉ )
What (क्या) etc (आदि ).

Who are you? आप कौन हैं?
Where are you? आप कहां हैं? 
What are you doing? आप क्या कर रहे हैं?

8) Distributive Pronoun (वितरणवाचक सर्वनाम)
For Example:
Either (या तो)
Neither (न तो )
Each (प्रत्येक)

9)Emphatic pronoun(दबावसूचक सर्वनाम )

For Example:

yourself, myself, yourselves, himself, etc

10)Reciprocal pronoun(पारम्परिक सम्बन्ध वाचक सर्वनाम )

For Example:

each, other, one another
